Synopsis

“Crazy for You” tells the story of Bobby Childs, a young banker with a yen for show business. Bobby is sent west to foreclose on a theater, but after falling in love with the local postmistress, Polly Baker, he convinces the folks in this sleepy Western town to put on a show and save the theater. This updated version of the Gershwin’s classic 1930’s musical “Girl Crazy” featured many classic Gershwin songs and a new Ken Ludwig libretto.

Crazy for You Preview (Curtain Calls 3.6, March 2008)

The fun and energy of this Gershwin brother’s musical with a zany new libretto by Ken Ludwig made for a fun evening of singing, dancing, and silliness. The enthusiasm and talent of the cast helped make this revision of an old 1930’s musical an audience favorite. All of the aspects of this show were praised by the reviewer. “Girl Crazy,” the original version of this show, was first done as the closing show of the Community Players’ 60th Season.
