Andrew Short (Romeo/Jack Kelly understudy) is excited to help carry the banner in Newsies at CPT! This is Andrew’s first production at Community Players, but it is not his first in the Bloomington-Normal area. You may have seen him most recently as Hansel in Illinois State University’s Hansel and Gretel in March 2023 or as Kenickie in Normal Parks & Rec’s Grease in Summer 2022. He has also been in productions with Normal Community High School and the Illinois High School Musical Theatre Association. In Fall 2022, he began his studies at Illinois State University towards a B.A. in Musical Theatre. Andrew is ecstatic to be able to tell the newsies’ stories through this amazing production. He thanks his family, friends, and mentors that have helped him and pushed him to pursue his dreams.
