Historian’s Corner
The final show of the 69th season was the award winning Stephen Sondheim classic fantasy musical “Into The Woods.” The production’s corporate sponsor was CELLULARONE. “Woods” marked the return to stage directing for a musical for Jim Keeran. He had not directed a musical since 1975’s “Camelot.” This was the debut for Sheri Bates as choreographer. Following “Into The Woods,” the Player offered creative drama classes for young people in June culminating in a production of “Peter Pan” that July. Yes, July! The air conditioning of the theater auditorium would be completed in time for the production and ready for use during the 70th Season.
