Historian’s Corner
The opening show of the 61st season was dedicated in Memory to Ron Smith. Ron was a past president and trustee of the Community Players. A lover of music and the arts, Mr. Smith understood the spirit of the word “community” and shared that spirit with the Community Players.
The 1983-1984 season expanded to six productions: two musicals, two comedies, a drama and a children’s show. “Cole” was the first time that Players had done a musical revue. It was also Jane Thomley’s first opportunity to direct a musical.
