Chyna Hawkins (Costume Design) is excited and honored to be designing costumes for Community Place Theatre's production A Raisin in the Sun for the first time. One of her goals was to design for Community Players Theatre. She has traveled to design costumes for shows in DC Theater Festival, Verger Theater and Fisk University Little Theatre in Nashville, Tennessee, New Route Theatre, Black Actors League at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, & television pilot in Chicago, Illinois and many more. Chyna is a graduate of Illinois State University and proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She wants to thank her son Navy for supporting her love of telling a story through costume and fashion design, expressing her creativity and following her dreams. Special thanks to Jennifer Rusk for thinking and asking me to be a part of this project.
