Acting Through Song: A Virtual Masterclass with Eden Espinosa

Community Players Theatre is excited to bring you a Virtual Masterclass with Eden Espinosa, known notably for her portrayal of Elphaba in Wicked, as Maureen in the closing company of Rent, and for originating the role of Brooklyn in Brooklyn the Musical.  This intimate experience will allow a limited number of performers ages 12 and up to sing 16-32 measures of a song of their choice and receive individualized feedback from Eden Espinosa.  A limited number of Observer spots are also available to watch the entire session, as well as participate in the Q&A.

Performer Ticket - $55.00

Each performer will get to perform for Eden between 16-32 measures of a song of their choice for Eden Espinosa.  They will then receive individual feedback from Eden based on their performance.  After working with all participants, the remaining time will be used as a Q&A session with Eden.

As a performer, you are responsible to have a cut accompaniment track to your audition cut.  You will also need access to play the track, webcam capabilities, and microphone to participate.

Observer Ticket - $25.00

Observers will get to watch the entire session live, as well as participate in the Q&A session afterwards.  This session is LIVE and will not be replayed in the future.

In order to secure one of our limited spots for this Masterclass for either an observer or a performer, you must fill out an application.  If you would like the chance to sing for Eden, you must also submit a short video of you singing along with your application.   To apply for the Masterclass, click here. About Eden:

Eden Espinosa is most recognized for her critically acclaimed portrayal of Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway and in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Other credits include originating the title character in Brooklyn the Musical, Flora in Flora the Red Menace, and Maureen in the closing company of RENT on Broadway. Eden is fresh off of the Broadway National Touring production of Falsettos in which she played Trina. Eden has also originated the role of Sadie Thompson in the world premiere of Rain, at the Old Globe Theater. She portrayed Eva Peron in TPAC and Studio Tenn’s production of Evita. In 2017 she toured Denmark and London playing Emma Borden in the rock musical Lizzie. She played Mary Flynn to rave reviews in Maria Friedman's production of Merrily We Roll Along at the Huntington Theatre in Boston. Eden was Daniela in Kennedy Center’s In The Heights. Also portrayed Anita in West Side Story for the BBC PROMS at the Royal Albert Hall. Most recently she originated the role of Tamara De Lempicka in the world premiere of Lempicka at Williamstown Theatre Festival, directed by Rachel Chavkin.

Her television appearances include shows such as “Law and Order”, “Ugly Betty”, and “Elementary.” Voiceover credits include Cassandra in the Disney Channel’s “Tangled the Series”, “Robot Chicken”, “MAD TV”, “Elena of Avalor”, and “Titan Maximum.” Eden’s released her debut album, Look Around, in 2012.
